JP Firearms is a home-based FFL located 5 miles west of the center of Adel.
Hours are by appointment only, generally only in the evening or on the weekends.
You must be at least 21 years old and a resident of the state of Iowa. You will need a non-expired government issued photo identification with your current address. If the address listed on your ID is not correct then you will need to bring another government issued ID/document that shows your current address (IE: water bill, electric bill).

No. Iowa law does not require you to have a permit to carry or permit to acquire. An FBI NICS check will be done in lieu of using a permit.
Yes. A permit is an exemption from having an FBI NICS check performed but per federal law, a ATF form 4473 must be completed for all firearm transactions from an FFL.
You must contact the Sheriffs office of the county where you reside. Many sheriff websites will allow you to apply online for either one of these permits.

I started JP Firearms in the summer of 2025 as a home-based FFL. Being home-based, I don't have large overhead costs and can offer firearms and accessories at reasonable prices to Iowans.
